Winter Learning Begins!

June 1, 2023

We had the merit of hearing words of chizuk from Rabbi David Shelby who was visiting from Brooklyn.

In honor of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the boys and staff enjoyed a special breakfast sponsored by Elliot Setton and Zachary Wahba for the occasion.

Thanks to Rabbi Daniel Potash, the yeshiva launch edits kosher phone incentive for its second year. The boys voluntarily hand in their unfiltered smartphone (stored in a safe until returned) for a special edition Xiaomi Qin AI Life F21 Pro phone. The phone is specially programed to the Lev’s specifications with only specific apps available from the app store(including WhatsApp). The 25 phones donated last year for the incentive have all been given out and there are more requests for more! To sponsor a phone, please contact either of Lev Aharon’s offices. You can be part of this tremendous incentive as the kosher phone is available in the U.S. from Planet Store:

The yeshiva held aspecial lunch for the yartzeit/azkarah of Rabbi Avraham Dov Auerbach, the ‘Bat Ayin’. The meal was later followed by berachot, tefillot and the lightingof candles led by Rabbi Dayan. Rabbi Avraham Dov Auerbach of Avritch (1765-1840)was a disciple of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev and the first two Rebbes ofthe Chernobyl dynasty. He was a Rebbe in Europe for forty years and then moved to the holy city of Tzefat for another ten. He wrote a famous book titled BatAyin. He did not merit to have children. There is a special segulah that whoever arranges a special meal in his memory on his yartzeit/azkarah(12 Kislev) will merit open salvations, shidduchim and children. Oneshould also like a candle and study from his sefer Bat Ayin.,

The yeshiva wasblessed with a visit from Rabbi Yitzchak Kolodetsky, oldest son-in-law of RavChaim zt”l. In his unassuming humility, Rabbi Kolodetsky is an accomplished scholar who has published various sefarim and is a hugely popular maggidin Eretz Yisrael, often drawing an overflowing attendance. A typical day for Rabbi Kolodetsky is one immersed in studying the intricacies of the Torah and delivering chizuk to those the rabbi meets. Remarkable yeshuot have been reported from the blessings of the venerable rabbi. His wife, Rebbetzin Leah, is widely recognized for taking over the helm of her mother, Rav Chaim’s famous wife, Rebbetzin Batsheva, following her passing. Rebbetzin Batsheva a”h was known for offering advice and giving blessings to thousands of women from every corner of the world.

The first-year boys were invited toparticipate in a seven-day Shacharit incentive with phones turned off. Fortyboys completed the incentive and were awarded sandboarding in the Judean Desert and a BBQ.
