The process of growth and development in a Yeshiva is usually gradual. One does not reach maturity overnight. Patience, with an investment of heart and soul, are prerequisites for the blossoming of a teenager. Often, it takes time for the boys to embrace their new routine and new surroundings and to internalize the importance of Limud HaTorah.
Ray Betesh came to yeshiva this year and hit the ground running. Almost immediately after he arrived, he decided to take advantage of this year and make it the most productive as possible. He began learning night seder with Rabbi Yakov Pollak and soon felt that he wanted to accomplish something special. Together, they chose to learn Mishnayot, Mesechet Shabbat, in its entirety. Night after night, Ray would not miss a seder and while others were coming and went, Ray was totally committed to reach his goal. Ultimately, with great excitement, they finished the Mesechet and this past week we held a beautiful Siyum in their honor. To our dear Ray we wish a Chazak V'ematz and may you continue growing in your learning and avodat Hashem.
